Anderson, Clerk- Treasurer
075
Consideration of Resolution No. 07 - 87, Approving Feasibility Report
and Calling for Hearing for Elevated Tank and Water Main System -
Based on the conversation at the Work Session this evening, Mr.
Reinert moved to table this Resolution. Mr. Bohjanen seconded the
motion. Motion carried unanimously.
4th Avenue Change Order - Mr. Stahlberg noted that the Council
approved the purchase of the culverts from Dakota County for
$2,000.00. This culvert could can be used on 4th Avenue so that a deep
ditch scheduled for the east side of 4th Avenue near Molin Concrete
could be covered. This installation would require an change order from
the present 4th Avenue contract. The contractor, Forest Lake
Contracting has prepared an estimate for the installation of the
culvert of $13,750 of which approximately one half would be state aid
eligible. Mr. Stahlberg recommended the installation of this culvert
because of the safety aspect with such a deep ditch. Mr. Reinert
asked for an explanation of what the difference would be in this
ditch. Mr. Stahlberg explained. He also noted that the culvert would
only cover about one half of the deep ditch.
Based on the fact that if the City should decide to cover the ditch at
another time it would be more expensive, Mr. Bisel moved to approve
the change order. Mr. Reinert seconded the motion. Motion carried
unanimously.
Outlot "F" - Mr. Stahlberg placed a map of Outlot "F" on the overhead
projector to show the Council the configuration of the lot and to
explain that if it is divided into pieces and sold to adjoining
landowners as proposed, there could be a problem with drainage. It is
his suggestion that the drainage be completed before the pieces are
sold. In addition, Mr. Uhde has considered purchasing the tax forfeit
lots that border on this Outlot. The excess dirt from the Outlot
could be used to fill in the forfeit lots that need fill. Mr. Reinert
asked Mr. Stahlberg what he was proposing for drainage, ditching,
ponding? He was concerned that a great deal of the fill would be
removed and there would be deep depressions behind the homes. Mr.
Stahlberg said he is proposing to just remove the high spots so that
drainage could go the natural direction to the culvert that runs under
East Shadow Lake Drive to the lake.
PAGE 10
