1 <br />COUNCIL MEETING APRIL 27, 1987 <br />Section 2. <br />Organization and Enforcement. The organization of the <br />Building Department and enforcement of the Code shall <br />be as established by Chapter 2 of the Uniform Building <br />Code 1985 Edition. The code shall be enforced within <br />the incorporated limits of the City. <br />Section 3. A. Permits, Inspections and Fees. Permits, inspect- <br />ions, and collection of fees shall be as provided <br />in Chapter 3 of the Uniform Building Code, 1985 <br />Edition. <br />Section 4. <br />B. Surcharge. In addition to the permit fee required <br />by item 1 above, the applicant shall pay a sur- <br />charge to be remitted to the Minnesota Department <br />of Administration as prescribed by Minnesota <br />Statutes 1984, Section 16B.70. <br />Effective Date of Ordinance. Anderson, Clerk - Treasurer <br />enson, Mayor <br />Discussion of Ado tin New Plumbin: and Heatin: Permit Fee Schedules - <br />Resolution No. 21 - 87 - Mr.Kluegel explained that this City has not <br />changed the fees charged for plumbing and heating permits since 1981. <br />He has surveyed other cities in this area and fees charged in Lino <br />Lakes are quite low in comparison. He is recommending that the <br />Plumbing Permit fees be raised to a flat $5.00 per opening and the <br />Heating Permit fees be $30.00 per home. This would mean that for a <br />typical home the plumbing permit fee would go from approximately <br />$32.50 per house to approximately $50.00 per house. The heating <br />permit would go from $25.50 to $30.00. Mr. Kluegel also checked <br />Septic System Permit fees and this City currently charges $25.00 which <br />is in line with other communities. Mr. Schumacher explained that the <br />City is not looking at making money, only covering the costs of <br />inspection. Mr. Kluegel normally makes two inspections during the <br />installation of a septic system. This would mean that the $25.00 <br />permit would not cover his costs.
