108
COUNCIL MEETING MAY 11, 1987
SECOND READING - ORDINANCE NO. 09 - 87, ADOPTING 1985 UNIFORM BUILDING
AND STATE BUILDING CODE.
Mr. Kluegel noted that this ordinance was considered at the last
Council meeting. He is now requesting that several optional chapters
of this proposed ordinance be deleted. He outlined the chapters to be
deleted and said some of them did not relate to Lino Lakes and some
would impose a financial burden on homeowners.
Mr. Bisel moved to have Mr. Kluegel clarify his recommendations in
writing giving the reason for not including the chapters in the
proposed ordinance and indicating what the difference would be if they
were included. Mr. Bohjanen seconded the motion. Motion carried
unanimously.
Mr. Kluegel was asked to take each chapter of the proposed new
ordinance and show how it applies to Lino Lakes and if it is more or
less restrictive.
DISCUSSION OF CITY ASSESSOR'S POSITION AND POTENTIAL CANDIDATES
Mr. Schumacher explained he advertised the position and received a
number of responses as well as a proposal from the Anoka County
Assessor's office. Mr. Reinert felt this was a growing
and changing city and there was a need for someone on staff.
Mr. Marier moved to hire a part time assessor. Mr. Bisel seconded the
motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Bohjanen moved to have the three candidates at the next Council
meeting to be interviewed by the Council. Mr. Marier seconded the
motion. Motion carried unanimously.
CONSIDERATION OF THE ANOKA COUNTY MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT FOR MAIN
STREET RIGHT -OF -WAY
Included in the Council packets were copies of the documents detailing.
the two parcels of land owned by the City on Main Street and giving
the dollar figure for purchase of right -of -way and removal of some
trees for the upgrading of Main Street.
