151
1
1
1
COUNCIL MEETING JUNE 22, 1987
control future erosion and eliminate silting in the lake. Mr.
MacDonald explained that the home owners on LaMotte Drive have formed
a homeowners association and would like sponsorship to help get the
ditch taken care of first and then the siltation problem after that.
Mr. Schumacher explained that the new development will be addressed
first. Mr. Marier noted that the shoreline is controlled by St. Paul
Water Department and this City does not have jurisdiction in that
area. Mr. MacDonald felt that if Lino Lakes, Anoka County and RCWD
help to bring pressure on the St. Paul Water Department regarding
siltation maybe something can be done this year since the lake level
is low allowing for a good opportunity to clean out the silt. Mr.
MacDonald suggested that the City write a letter. Mayor Benson
suggested that the homeowners write a letter to the Council outlining
their request so that it can become an agenda item after the ditch is
cleaned. Mr. Reinert felt that RCWD has responsibility for control of
sediment. He also felt that if Lino Lakes gets involved they would be
transcending over other entities boundary lines.
Mr. Marier asked Mr. MacDonald to send a letter addressed to the
Centerville City Mayor and the Lino Lakes Mayor. This will become an
agenda item.
PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD REPORT - PETE KLUEGEL
House Move -In, Kevin Kroells - Mr. Kroells is requesting a permit to
move in a house to Lot 8, Block 1, Sherwood Green. The house has been
inspected, is eight years old and is compatible with the neighboring
homes. The Planning and Zoning Board has recommended approval of this
request. Mr. Marier moved to approve the house move -in for Keven
Kroells for 7839 Lois Lane, Lot 8, Block 1, Sherwood Green. Mr. Bisel
seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Re one Conditional Use Permit Hanson Block Company - Mr. Bohjanen
moved to set a public hearing for July 13, 1987 at 8:00 P.M. Mr.
Marier seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
First Reading, Ordinance No, 12 - 87, Ame.n.ing the PSP District - Mr.
Kluegel explained that this is basically a house keeping change which
was recommended by the City Planner and approved by the Planning and
Zoning Board. Mr. Bisel asked why the langauge includes correctional
facilites specifically, why not just state and county buildings which
should include correctional facilities. Mr. Marier explained that this
just made the ordinance more positive.
Mr. Bisel moved to approve the first reading of Ordinance No. 12 - 87
without the phrase "including cocrrectional facilities ". Mr. Bohjanen
seconded the motion. Mrs. Anderson read the proposed ordinance.
Motion carried unanimously.
PAGE 3
