Mr. Schumacher
told the Council that he received a telephone call from the builder
today asking what could be done to make the lot buildable. He
informed the builder that the requirements are the same as stated the
last time he attended the Council meeting. Mayor Benson asked if the
City could excavate the lot and bill the contractor. Mr. Hawkins said
that the City did not have the authority to excavate unless it was a
public nuisance. He felt the best solution was to proceed enforcing a
portion of the Nuisance Ordinance. This would mean criminal
prosecution.
After further discussion, Mr. Bohjanen moved to write a letter to the
owner of the lot informing him that he must have the lot excavated by
June 30, 1987. Mr. Marier seconded the motion. Motion carried
unanimously.
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT AND PARKS DEPARTMENT REPORT - DON VOLK
1. -
•
•
1- . .
II - 1
- Mr. Volk explained that
this request is for approval of the low bid for the purchase of a
three cubic yard spreader to be mounted on the one ton mini -dump
truck. This equipment will allow better sanding of parking lots,
cul -de -sacs and roadways. It will be a cost effective way for
maintaining these areas. All bids meet specifications and
Ruffridge - Johnson Equipment Company, Inc. submitted the low bid and
Mr. Volk recommended approval of the low bid.
Mr. Reinert moved to approve the Public Works Director's recommendat-
ion for the low bid to Ruffridge- Johnson Equipment Company, Inc. for
$2,540.00. Mr. Bohjanen seconded the motion. Mr. Bisel asked if both
the low bidder and next low bidder were located near Lino Lakes. Mr.
Volk explained their locations, which were nearly equal distances.
Voting on the motion, motion carried unanimously.
Building Expansion, Sunrise Park - Mr. Volk explained that the current
building used for equipment storage is unsafe and he is proposing to
add on storage facilities to the current warming house and demolish
the present storage facility. The proposed expansion would be twenty
feet by twenty eight feet and would match the present structure which
is concrete block with a wood roof. The bids received were for the
concrete construction only and the City crew wouldd complete the roof.
Mr. Volk recommended that the Council approve the low bid from Gary
Lantz, Inc.
Mr. Bisel moved to approve the hid from Gary Lantz, Inc. for
$3,824.00.
