On
July 30th staff again met with Met Council and they gave their
arguments and reasons for their requirements. He gave the Council
minutes of this meeting. Mr. Schumacher pointed out the major area of
discussion is where Lino Lakes is proposing one acre subdivisions.
Another area of disagreement is the southeast corner of Lino Lakes
where two and one half acre subdivisions are proposed. Met Council is
not supportive of these two area of the Comp Plan Amendments and are
holding to four housing units per forty acres. Met Council has
suggested that Lino Lakes designate the proposed one acre subdivision
area as urban service district. This would mean that some area already
designated as urban service district would have to be traded for this
area. Mr. Schumacher told the Council this issue received a great
deal of attention at this meeting. He also met with Mary Hauser and
the Met Council Planner after the regular meeting and further
discussed this issue.
Mr. Schumacher told the Council that the proposed Comp Plan Amendments
can be left as they are currently drafted. The ramification would be
that Met Council would not approve FHA financing on any new
construction.
PACE 12
