Mr. Hawkins agreed that <br />another area of the Zoning Ordinance would address the use of the <br />yards. Mr. Reinert was concerned about controlling storage yards and <br />Mr. Schumacher said the Council would have control because a <br />conditional use hermit would be required. <br />Mr. Reinert moved to approve the second reading of Ordinance No. 15 -- <br />87 and dispense with the reading. Mr. P;ohjanen seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Ordinance No . 15 -- <br />87 is written in the July 27, 1987 minutes. <br />SECOND READING, ORDINANCE NO. 16 - 87; GENERAL INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT <br />CONDITIONAL USES <br />Mr. Kiuegel explained that this ordinance would allow the open storage <br />of materials and equipment when fenced and screened in the General <br />Industrial District. It is already allowed in the Light Industrial <br />District and the General Industrial District is a heavier district. <br />Mr. Reinert moved to approve the second reading of Ordinance: No. 1G - <br />87 and dispense with the reading. Mr. Bisel seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried unanimously. The complete ordinance is found in the <br />July 27, 1987 Council minutes. <br />DISCUSSION OF SPEED ZONING ALL CITY STREETS - DON VOLK <br />Mr. Volk updated the Council on the matter of his request to MnDOT for <br />a speed study on all Lino Lakes streets. MnDOt has received the <br />request and has followed up with a letter dated June 11, 1987 with <br />information for the Council to consider. Mr. Volk asked the Council <br />if it is their intention to have all City streets posted with speed <br />zones. His letter to the Council indicates that the costs will be <br />considerable. <br />Mr. Stahlberg introduced Mr. Ralph Clare to the Council and noted that <br />he is the person most famliar with streets and street funding. Mayor <br />Benson asked Mr,. Clare what other cities do about posting speed zones. <br />Mr. Clare said normally they do not post speed limits on urban <br />streets. <br />Mr. Volk noted that presently all county and state streets are posted. <br />The main concern now is the streets that are city streets and serve as <br />PAGE 8 <br />
