224 <br />COUNCIL MEETING AUGUST 24, 1987 ' <br />1987, in the city hall at 7:45 P.M. to pass upon such proposed <br />assessment and at such time and place all persons owning prop- <br />erty affected by such improvement will be given an opportunity <br />to be heard with reference to such assessment. <br />2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause a notice of the hear- <br />ing on the proposed assessment to be published once in the off- <br />icial newspaper at least two weeks prior to the hearing, and she <br />shall state in the notice the total cost of the improvement. She <br />shall also cause mailed notice to be given to the owners of each <br />parcel described in the assessment roll not less than two weeks <br />prior to the hearings. <br />3. The owner of any property so asessed may, at any time prior to <br />certification of the assessment to the County Auditor, pay the <br />whole of the assessment on such property, with interest accrued <br />to the date of payment, to the City Clerk, 'except that no in- <br />terest shall be charged if the entire assessment is paid within <br />thirty (30) days from the adoption of the assessment. He may <br />at any time thereafter, pay to the City Clerk the entire amount <br />of the assessment remaining unpaid, with interest accrued to <br />December 31, of the year in which such payment is made. Such <br />payment must be made before October 15 or interest will be <br />charged through December 31 of the succeeding year. <br />Adopted by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 24th day of <br />August, 1987. <br />M r <br />. Anderson, Clerk - Treasurer <br />SECOND READING, ORDINANCE NO. 17 - 87, CONCERNING BUILDING STANDARDS <br />IN COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL DISTRICTS. <br />Mr. Jeff Joyer of 8241 Rondeau Lake Road West asked the Council if <br />they would consider the following amendment to the ordinance: Section <br />I, Subdivision 3, (1) add, "or farm machinery ". He explained that he <br />and his family own a truck farm on property zoned general business. <br />This ordinance would prohibit the erection of a pole building on this <br />general business property. The building would be used for storing the <br />farm equipment used for gardening. Mr. Reinert suggested that Mr. <br />Joyer could apply for a variance.
