COUNCIL MEETING
November 10, 1986
CONSIDERATION AND APPROVAL OF GROUND LEASE AGREEMENT WITH
CENTENNIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT
Mr. Schumacher explained that the proposed Ground Lease
included in the Council packet is for leasing approximately
five acres of a forty acre tract owned by Centennial School
District on Birch Street. There would be minimal investment
in this area, only basic grading and seeding to provide for
one softball field, one soccer field and a small parking
lot between the two fields. The Lease would be for five
years at a cost of $1.00 per year. Thereafter, the Lease
could be renewed for one -year periods. The School Board
has studied this proposal and felt that if a building would
be built on this property, the ball fields would remain
intact. Mr. Hawkins suggested the exact legal description
of the five acres should be included in the Lease.
Mr. Bohjanen moved to approve the Ground Lease Agreement with
Centennial School District and include in the Agreement the
exact legal description of the five acre tract to be developed.
Mr. Basil seconded the motion.
Mr. Al Ross from the audience asked if this Lease would cause
any problems with insurance. Mr. Schumacher explained that
this area would be included in the City insurance programs and
the cost would be minimal since there will be no buildings
involved.
Voting on the motion; motion carried unanimously.
SECOND READING OF ORDINANCE #06 - 86, AMEND CAR WASH IN
GENERAL BUSINESS DISTRICT
1
1
Mr. Schumacher gave the background on this ordinance and in-
dicated to the Council that it would restrict car wash facilities
to the sewered district.
Mr. Basil moved to adapt Ordinance #06 -86 and dispense with
the reading. Mr. Marier seconded the motion. Motion carried
unanimously.
CITY OF LINO LAKES
COUNTY OF ANOKA
Ordinance No. 06 - 86
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY CODE, APPENDIX B, ZONING ORDINANCE OF
THE CITY OF LINO LAKES, BY ADDING CAR WASH FACILITY (AUTOMATED, SELF
SERVICE, OR FULL SERVICE) AS A CONDITIONAL USE IN THE GENERAL BUSINESS,
(GB) DISTRICT.
