1
1
COUNCIL MEETING
November 10, 1986
Mr. Tautges explained that sometime in the future it may
be determined that purchase of the gas system was the way to
go. However, there are no guarantees and the 7% profit
based on gas sales protects the City in all aspects.
Mr. Bohjanen asked if the City could be certain they would
receive 7% of all gas sales in Lino Lakes. Mr. Schumacher
said yes and Mr.- Tautges said this information could be
verified through the financial statements that are prepared
for the gas utility.
Mr. Bohjanen expressed his appreciation to the Negotiating
Committee for their efforts and time in preparing the new
agreement. However, because of what has happened in the
past, he is reluctant to approve this agreement.
Mr. Marier told the Council he feels the new agreement is
good for both cities and Lino Lakes still has the buy -out
option. Mr. Bisel felt the November 3rd meeting was a
true negotiating session.
Mayor Benson thanked the Negotiating Committee and Mr.
Marier and asked that letters be sent to each member ex-
pressing the Council's appreciation for their time and
efforts. Mayor Benson also noted that the Council will have
to appoint one member to the Circle Pines Gas Utility Com-
mission. He suggested the Council members consider a member
of the Negotiating Committee for this appointment.
NEW BUSINESS
There was no new business.
OLD BUSINESS
A. BLAINE SEWER AND WATER HOOKUP CHARGES - Mrs. Anderson
told the Council she had checked with the City of Blaine
to determine all the permit charges for Blaine residents
who hookup to their municipal sewer and water. This in-
formation had been requested to determine if Lino Lakes
residents on Sunset Drive are paying more than Blaine
residents for the same permits. It was determined that a
Blaine resident would pay about $85.00 more than the
Lino Lakes resident.
Mr. Reinert asked who would inspect the installations. Mrs.
Anderson said Blaine is insisting on inspecting any connection
to their systems. Mr. Schumacher explained this would be
outlined in the Joint Powers Agreement. This agreement would
have to be approved by the Lino Lakes Council.
051
