COUNCIL MEETING
January 26, 1987
After discussing Mr. Cadotti's application for the permit and
explaining similar cases brought before the Council in the
past which had been required to be brought into conformance,
Mayor Benson suggested that Mr. Cadotti had basis for a lawsuit
against his contractor.
Mr. Cadotti asked if the Code could be changed. Mayor Benson
said this would be hard to justify to the other homeowners
who were required to conform to the City Code.
Mayor Benson told Mr. and Mrs. Cadotti that they could either
apply for a variance or bring the garage into conformity
with the City Code.
CONSIDERATION OF ANIMAL CONTRACT
The City Council has received two proposals for animal control
services; one from Lake Animal Care and the second from Knollton
Kennels. This matter had been considered at the January 12th
Council meeting and tabled for further information.
Mr. Bisel asked for clarification regarding pick -up of animals.
It was explained that normally Knollton Kennels only picks
up animals when a designated person makes the request. This
is usually someone in the Police Department. Lake Animal
Care will pick up animals when citizens call.
Mr. Reinert felt the public relations at Lake Animal Care
was poor. Mayor Benson reviewed the memorandum submitted
by the Clerk regarding the survey she did with other cities
using the services of both kennels and the comments made
by the Anoka County Humane Society.
After further discussion, Mr. Marier moved to table this
matter and ask representatives from Knollton Kennels and
Lake Animal Care to appear at the next Council meeting to
answer some of the Councils concerns. Mr. Bisel seconded
the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Ron Conway, 6280 Red Maple Lane - Mr. Conway apologized for
being late and addressed some of his concerns to the Council
regarding the proposed preliminary plat of Reshanau Lake
Estates South. His concerns were: 1) How steep are the
banks to the ponds, 2) Concerned about keeping children out
of the ponds, 3) Will the ponds lower the water table in
the area, 4) What are the depths of the ponds, 5) How full
will the ponds be during a wet spring, 7) what will the erosion
control be, 8) Will there be an erosion problem on the south
1
