Benson, Mayor
109
day of February'
CONSIDERATION OF ENTERING INTO A JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT WITH ANOKA
COUNTY FOR MAIN STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
Mr. Hawkins recommended approval of the joint powers agreement with
the inclusion of a limitation of accepting a bid of no more than 10%
over the engineer's estimate for the project. This limitation is
in keeping with the Lino Lakes City Charter. Questions followed:
? - Can the speed limit in the area of Lino Lakes Elementary School
be lowered? With the wider, improved County Road 14, vehicles
will be apt to speed through the area.
A - Mayor Benson: Speed limits on Main Street are the responsibility
of the State. Perhaps a petition could be forwarded if enough
residents felt strongly about lowering the speed limit.
