COUNCIL MINUTES
Marilyn G. Anderson, Clerk - Treasurer
Work Session - Mr. Stahlherg asked that the Council set a work session
for discussion of long range water and sewer utility plans before the
Uhde and Erickson public hearings. The meeting was set for March 9,
1987 at 5:00 P.M. just prior to the regular Council meeting.
ATTORNEY'S REPORT - BILL HAWKINS
Mr. Hawkins did not have a report.
CONSIDERATION OF SETTING DATE OF BOARD OF REVIEW FOR APRIL 20. 1987,
7:00 P.M.
Mr. Bisel moved to set the date for the Board of Review. Mr. Bohjanen
seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
CONSIDERATION OF PROCLAIMING MARCH 8 THROUGH MARCH 14. 1987 AS
VOLUNTEERS OF AMERICA WEEK
Mr. Marier moved to approve the proclamation and to send letters to
all volunteers in Lino Lakes. Mr. Bohjanen seconded the motion.
Motion carried unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS
Appointment of City Planner - Mayor Benson expressed concern to Mr.
Johnson as to who would be the representative for Lino Lakes from his
firm. Mr. Johnson said he was not aware that there were any concerns
and explained that his firm makes assignments within the office
according to what items need what expertise, sometimes it is himself
and sometimes it is Bob Wuornos. He felt this was giving Lino Lakes
the best service. Mr. Johnson said he would like to address the
specific problems and asked if the Council wanted to choose a
particular representative of their services.
Mr. Reinert expressed his concern because sometimes he felt that Mr.
Johnson was not tuned into Lino Lakes and was just using a text book
approach to all items brought before him. He would like more guidance
from the City Planner. Mr. Schumacher noted that last summer he had
discussed several items with Mr. Johnson one being that he would like
to see more representation from Mr. Johnson than from Mr. Wuornos.
Mr. Bisel felt there was a problem of getting materials and
information in a timely manner. He asked that Mr. Johnson make a
better effort to get materials out in time and to be at the meetings
rather than Mr. Wuornos. Mayor Benson asked that Mr. Johnson
cooperate in the effort to put forth a better image in coordinating
materials and timetables and a better effort to answer all concerns so
that applicants do not have to return a number of times before their
matter is completed.
1
