He was asked to check on this
matter for this City.
Senator Dahl said he would address the following issues for Lino
Lakes: bridge funding, oak wilt prevention funding, interchange of
County Road 14 and 35W, change in circuit breaker and increased aid to
local governments.
Mayor Benson thanked Senator Dahl for coming this evening.
PUBLIC HEARING - VACATION OF LA MOTTE PARK - RANDY SCHUMACHER
Mr. Schumacher explained a developer has purchased some property
adjacent to LaMotte Park and was asking that he be able to gain access
to his property through the park in exchange for lands within his
subdivision. This developer now has purchased other property and is
no longer interested in exchanging any lands.
Mr. Bohjanen moved to close the public hearing at 7:52 P.M. Mr.
Marier seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
HANSON BLOCK SITE LOCATION UPDATE - RANDY SCHUMACHER
Mr. Schumacher told the Council that staff had met with
representatives of Hanson Block along with a representative from the
Planning and Zoning Board regarding locating in the area of 35E and
Main Street. Hanson Block had looked at possible locations in that
area. The Council has asked to look closer at locating in the area of
Moline Concrete since they are similar operations. Staff has
contacted Moline Concrete about this situation and Moline has
indicated that they wish to do a comprehensive study of their site and
would not be interested in marketing their property at this time. The
Council had suggested that staff look at the Cheesebrough property
along 4th Avenue. This property is only five acres and Hanson Block
would need at least ten acres. Also this property is zoned
residential and surrounded by other newer residential property.
Mr. Marier asked that the staff give the Council some alternatives to
look at. Mr. Schumacher said that Hanson Block will wait to see what
spring brings.
PLANNING AND ZONING REPORT - PETE KLUEGEL AND JOHN MILLER
Minor Subdivision, Steve Kaiser - Mr. Kaiser is asking for a minor
subdivision for a twelve foot wide piece of property that he wishes to
obtain from Mr. Ernest Apitz at 6524 Hodgson Road to add to his
property.
