100
COUNCIL MEETING NOVEMBER 23, 1987
Set Meeting With City of Centerville Regarding Update on Fire Station
No. 3 - This meeting was set for Monday, December 7, 1987 at 6:30 P.M.
Letter Requesting Confirmation of William H. Bruen as Chairman of the
Fire Commission - Mr. Marier moved to approve this request. Mr.
Bohjanen seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Fire Commission Stipend for Former Chairman LaTuff - Mr. Schumacher
noted that this has previously been before the Council and this
Council decided to leave this matter up to the Commission. The
Centerville Clerk has again asked this Council to reconsider this
request. There is money in the 1988 Fire District Budget for the
Chairman but not in the 1987 Budget. They are requesting additional
money for $1,200 stipend. Mayor Benson noted that Mr. LaTuff did a
very good job and this would be a goodwill gesture. It could be
treated as an honorarium or measure of appreciation. Mr. Marier felt
this City should not get involved with the Fire District budgetary
situation and suggested following the contract as written.
OLD BUSINESS
Teamsters and 49ers Union Contract Negotiations Update - Mr. Marier
moved to consider this in a closed session. Mr. Bisel seconded the
motion. Motion carried unanimously.
The Council moved into closed session at 8:50 P.M. and reconvened at
9:06 P.M.
Mayor Benson summarized the closed session. The City Administrator
has been authorized to make a counter proposal to the union
negotiator. He will forward this information to the business agent
tomorrow.
Pheasant Ridge Ampitheater - A lady from the audience asked how will
the ampitheater affect Lino Lakes. Mayor Benson said that the City
has not yet considered what all the affects will be and probably will
not address it further until Blaine makes some decisions. The lady
asked if Gordon Voss has contacted this City. Mayor Benson said no
and neither has Representative Quinn. He noted that the rezone of
that area has been tabled by the City of Blaine.
Mr. Bisel moved to adjourn at 9:07 P.M. Mr. Bohjanen seconded the
motion. Aye.
These minutes were considered and approved at a _ ar council
meeting on December 1
M R LY ' G. ANDERSON : JAM
Clerk- Treasurer Mayor
PAGE 8
