He also felt that timing was important.
He recommended that housing standards be revised as soon as possible.
He said he hoped to have his recommendations to the Planning and
Zoning Board on December 9, 1987 and to the Council by December 28th,
1987. Mr. Marier moved that if the maps from other Board Members and
staff are not received by November 27th, the material that is received
should be forwarded to the Planning and Zoning Board of December 9th.
Mr. Reinert seconded the motion. Mr. Reinert asked where is the
Comprehensive Land Use Plan Update and Zoning Map update. Mr. Miller
explained this will also go to the Planning and Zoning Board on
December 9th and a recommendation to the Council could be made at that
time. Motion carried unanimously.
Mayor Benson suggested that Mr. Miller ask the Planning and Zoning
Board, Park Board and Economic Development Committee if the second
Saturday in January would be a good time to tour the City.
ENGINEER'S REPORT RON STAHLBERG
Mr. Marier questioned if utility installers are placing utilities in
the correct location. Mr. Stahlberg explained that he reviews each
permit application and then forwards an approved copy to the utility
company and a copy to the Clerk. He noted that Mr. Volk also wants a
copy of the permit and he will make arrangements with the Clerk to see
that Mr. Volk also gets a copy of the permit.
ATTORNEY'S REPORT - BILL HAWKINS
1988 Gambling License Request, VFW Post 6583 - Mr. Hawksin noted that
this is a renewal of the VFW license. If the Council has no problems
with the current operation, no action is necessary. The Council did
not take any action.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT UPDATE - RANDY SCHUMACHER
Mr. Schumacher explained that the Economic Development Committee has
been meeting on a regular basis. They are considering a program based
on the Star City Program and the Council should be receiving a draft
document in the next couple of months. Mr. Bisel suggested that if
anyone is interested they should sit in on the meetings which are
every third week.
NEW BUSINESS
PAGE 7
