136 <br />COUNCIL MEETING JANUARY 11, 1988 <br />31, 1987 and both have indicated that they wish to be <br />reappointed. Also two applications for these two vacancies <br />have been received. The applicants are Elmer Crohn, 8021 <br />Aenon Place and Kurt Beske, 1209 Rondeau Lake Road West. <br />Mr. Bisel suggested the Council follow the procedure set <br />during the 1987 appointments and invite the candidates to <br />appear before the Council. Mr. Reinert asked for further <br />information about the backgrounds of Mr. Crohn and Mr. <br />Beske. <br />Mr. Bisel moved to table action on this appointment and <br />invite the people to come before the Council and have them <br />answer prepared questions and have the current members serve <br />until the Council has taken final action. Mr. Reinert <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Centennial Fire District Commission - Mayor Benson explained <br />that Lino Lakes has two representatives on the Commission <br />who serve at the pleasure of the Council. An application <br />for one of the positions has been received from Mr. Lance <br />Olson, 628 Barbara Lane. Mr. Bohjanen moved to ask Mr. <br />Olson to come before the Council. Mr. Bisel seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Lino Lakes Civil Defense - Mayor Benson explained that the <br />Civil Defense is a volunteer group and there has been no <br />problem in this area. <br />Cable Commission - Mayor Benson explained that Lino Lakes <br />has one member on this Commission and currently this <br />position is filled by a staff member, Dan Tesch. <br />Parks, Reacreational and Environmental Board - Mayor Benson <br />explained that terms held by Mr. Ray Johnson and Mr. Robert <br />Williams expired December 31, 1987. Mr. Johnson and Mr. <br />Williams have indicated that they wish to serve another term <br />and no other applications have been received. <br />Mr. Bohjanen moved to reappoint Mr. Johnson and Mr. Williams <br />to another term. Mr. Bisel seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Chairman of Boards - Mayor Benson directed each Board to <br />elect their own chairman and vice - chairman. <br />Economic Development Committee - There are no vacant <br />positions on the Committee at this time. Mr. Bisel <br />explained that this Committee is nearing the completion of <br />PAGE 2 <br />
