COUNCIL MEETING JANUARY 11, 1988 <br />City Planner - This position is filled by an employee, John <br />Miller. <br />Weed Inspector - Mr. Reinert moved to reappoint Mr. Allan <br />Robinson. Mr. Bisel seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Fire Marshall - Mayor Benson explained that the Fire <br />Marshall is now appointed by the Centennial Fire District. <br />Civil Defense Director - Mr. Bisel moved to reappoint Mr. <br />Charles Cape. Mr. Bohjanen seconded the_motion. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Health Officer - Mr. Bohjanen moved to reappoint Anoka <br />County Health Department. Mr. Reinert seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Legal Newspaper - Mr. Howard Lestrud representing Sell <br />Publishing (Forest Lake Times) presented a proposal to the <br />Council. He explained that the Times currently reaches <br />about 250 readers in Lino Lakes but plans are already made <br />to send out a sample circulation. <br />Proposals by letter were received from the Circulating <br />Pines, Press Publication (Quad Press) and the Anoka County <br />Union & Shopper. Mr. Bisel moved to table this item until <br />the next Council meeting and asked for additional <br />information on circulation and the interest in promoting <br />Lino Lakes by each paper. Mr. Reinert seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Reinert was concerned that <br />the appointee be better informed about Lino Lakes and the <br />events in this City. Mr. Bisel felt if the paper was <br />newsworthy, the reader will look for legal notices too. <br />Mayor Benson asked that written responses be included in the <br />next packets and notify the representatives of each paper <br />that this will be on the next agenda. <br />Legal Depositories - Mr. Schumacher explained the new League <br />of Minnesota Cities sponsored 4 M Fund. This new investment <br />fund is administered through Piper, Jaffray and is a <br />premissible statutory investment and is fully <br />collateralized. Mr. Hawkins noted this fund is operated <br />similar to mutual funds. <br />Mr. Reinert moved to approve the following depositories: <br />Northwestern National Bank, Minneapolis; First Bank, <br />PAGE 4 <br />
