I63
COUNCIL MEETING JANUARY 25, 1988
Mr. Bohjanen seconded the motion. Motion carried
unanimously. Mayor Benson said the hunting ordinance should
be considered in conjunction with this item.
ENGINEER'S REPORT - RON STAHLBERG
Mr. Stahlberg did not have a report.
ATTORNEY'S REPORT - BILL HAWKINS
Mr. Hawkins did not have a report.
CONSIDERATION OF JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT WITH WHITE BEAR
TOWNSHIP FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE OF EAST ASH
STREET
Mr. Schumacher gave a brief background of this item and
explained that Ramsey County has refused to accept
responsibility for one half of the road. Approval of the
Joint Powers Agreement will allow White Bear Township to
assess Ramsey County. If Ramsey County should appeal the
assessment, the matter would come back to this Council.
Mr. Stahlberg noted that plans and specifications for this
street have not been prepared. Mr. Hawkins explained this
would be needed to determine Ramsey County's share of the
costs.
Mr. Marier moved to approve the Joint Powers Agreement as
drafted. Mr. Reinert seconded the motion. Motion carried
unanimously.
A resolution ordering preparation of plans and
specifications will be on the next Council Agenda.
OLD BUSINESS
Ordinance No. 23 - 87, Second Reading, Allowing a Longer
Period of Time During Municipal Election Ballot
Qualification - Mr. Bisel moved to approve the second
reading and adopt Ordinance No. 23 - 87.
