COUNCIL WORK SESSION FEBRUARY 8, 1988 <br />STATUS OF 49ERS CONTRACT <br />Mayor Benson opened the Work Session at 6:10 P.M. Council <br />Members present: Bisel, Bohjanen, Reinert. Council Members <br />absent: Marier. City Administrator, Randy Schumacher and <br />Clerk- Treasurer Marilyn Anderson were also present. <br />Mr. Schumacher explained the status of the negotiations for <br />salaries and benefits for the maintenance personnel for 1988 <br />and 1989. <br />Originally, the union personnel wanted to negotiate a one <br />year contract. Mr. Schumacher convinced them to negotiate a <br />two year contract. He listed the areas of agreement: <br />Health and Welfare $10.00 increase in 1988 <br />$ 5.00 increase in 1989 <br />Pay Periods 26 pay periods not 24 <br />Training Program Language stating current <br />policy <br />January 1, 1988 <br />AREAS TO BE NEGOTIATED: <br />Currently the Pay Range Limitations are: 1st yr. 900 <br />2nd yr. 95% <br />3rd yr. 100% <br />Union has suggested the following Limitations: <br />1st yr. 70% <br />2nd yr. 80% <br />3rd yr. 90% <br />Mr. Schumacher suggested this be adopted and add langauge <br />that would insure that if a prospective employee has <br />exceptional qualifications or special education the <br />Administrator would be able to offer a better salary. The <br />Council agreed. <br />Clothing Allowance Mr. Schumacher suggested a $25 <br />increase. <br />The Council asked that this be <br />negotiated up to a maximum of <br />$25.00. <br />PAGE 1 <br />
