1 <br />established allowing for planned development with little <br />impact on adjacent properties. By using this system, all <br />future development within the city will be able to tie into <br />a functional Surface Water Plan. <br />With the large number of Oak trees in Lino Lakes, the City <br />has been actively pursuing an Oak Wilt Control Program. We <br />feel that our trees are one of our most valuable resources. <br />Over the past year, the city forester has been tracking and <br />monitoring Oak Wilt problems within developed areas. <br />Incidents of disease is on the increase. The City has been <br />designated as a pilot project area by the Department of <br />Agriculture and the DNR. The program is designed to <br />effectively control and treat, through the use of root graph <br />disruption, Oak Wilt. The City is looking at establishing <br />stronger standards for new residential developments, thus <br />creating assurances for healthy oak stands. <br />1987 saw the finalization of our Gas Franchise Agreement <br />with Circle Pines. This was the culmination of several years <br />of work to insure gas supply to residents of Lino Lakes. <br />Once again I would like to thank all the people that helped <br />make 1987 a sucess for Lino Lakes. First of all, thank you <br />to the Council for putting in your many hours of service and <br />for making the committment to serve your community in this <br />capacity.
