CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 04-04 <br />AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br />BLOCK GRANT THROUGH ANOKA COUNTY COMMUNITY <br />DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes is a partner and participant in the development of <br />Legacy at Woods Edge, a development of a town center as a community gathering place; <br />WHEREAS, the City has identified the location and donated approximately seven acres <br />of land and infrastructure and has committed an additional $1.5 million to the <br />development of the Chain of Lakes YMCA; <br />WHEREAS, the City is committed to serving the needs, specifically of children and <br />youth, by investing specifically in the Teen Center at the Chain of Lakes YMCA; <br />WHEREAS, the City has the institutional, managerial and fmancial capability to ensure <br />adequate project administration; <br />WHEREAS, the City ensures that work on the Youth and Teen Center will not begin until <br />the Community Block Grant becomes available; <br />WHEREAS, the City certifies that it will comply with all applicable laws and regulations <br />as stated in the contract agreements; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of Lino Lakes, Anoka County, Minnesota agrees to act as <br />legal sponsor for the project as outlined in the Community Development Block Grant <br />application submitted on January 8, 2004; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA: <br />That the Economic Development Assistant is hereby authorized to apply to the County of <br />Anoka, Community Development Department, and to execute such agreements as are <br />necessary to implement the project on behalf of the applicant. <br />Adopted by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 12th day of January, 2004. <br />Jo} n Ber_'son, ayor <br />LL <br />Ann Blair, City Clerk <br />
