Legacy at Woods Edge 2 December 24, 2003
EAW. It would be prudent to plan the improvements in such a way as to avoid
reconstruction of any interim improvements made--in other words, maximize the
potential of our investments.
• The EAW mentions a future "tragicsin:Walton as It relates to the regional
transportation system" (EAW pg. 25). The County is very interested in seeing the
results of this:simnlation and we look forward to discussing these with you and
MnIDOT, hopefully prior to PrelicpinazyPlat review.
• There is some comas about the impact alibis project on traffic farther south on
CSAH 23. While it is understood that this is outside of the scope ofthe EAW,
development of this portion of the City will anchor, or set in stone, the potential for
alternatives. Before alternatives are eliminated, ft would be helpful to discuss the
cumulative impact of this, and other, development projects in greater detail with the
City
• We encourage early, possibly draft, submittal of any Preliminary Plat and/or site plan
of the Legacy at Woods Edge to the County Staff ibr review. This is an important
development for. the City and we would like to give it as much attention as needed.
Thanks, again, for the opportunity to be involved in this project early in the process. We look
forward to continuing discussions with the City on the items listed above,
Sines ely
gi4fefrati
Kate Garwood
Multimodal Transportation Manager
cc Doug Fischer, County Engineer
Jane Rose, Traffic Engineering Manager
:Brigid Gombold, Mr/DOT
Ann Braden, Metro Council
RESPONSE
3 An initial traffic simulation model was presented to staff from the Anoka County Highway Department and
Mn/DOT in early December 2003.
