Studenski, City Engineer <br />COUNCIL MEETING DATE: February 9, 2004 <br />TOPIC: Resolution No 04 -22, Authorizing Preparation of Plans and <br />Specifications for 2004 Wearing Course <br />Vote Required: Simple Majority <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The City undertakes a paving project each year to place the final layer of <br />bituminous, known as the wearing course, in those developments where the <br />majority of the lots have been built on The funding for this work is provided by <br />assessments to the respective subdivisions. The estimated total project cost is <br />$78,000.00. The subdivisions receiving wearing course this year include the final <br />portion of Clearwater Creek 3rd Addition and Clearwater Creek 5th Addition. <br />The schedule for this project is as follows: <br />City Council Authorizes Plans and Specifications <br />City Council Approves Plans and Specifications <br />City Council Authorizes Ad for Bids <br />Open Bids <br />City Council Awards Contract <br />Construction Begins <br />February 9, 2004 <br />March 22, 2004 <br />March 22, 2004 <br />April, 2004 <br />May, 2004 <br />June, 2004 <br />OPTIONS: <br />1 Return to staff for further review. <br />2. Adopt Resolution Number 04 -22, authorizing the preparation of plans and <br />specifications for the 2004 Wearing Course Project. <br />3. Not adopt Resolution Number 04 -22: <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option No 2 Staff recommends that Resolution Number 04 -22 be adopted. <br />
