Pecchia, Public Safety <br />Director /Chief of Police <br />DATE September 13, 2004 <br />TOPIC <br />VOTE REQUIRED <br />BACKGROUND <br />Consideration of Resolution No 04 - 130 <br />Accepting Donations from area businesses <br />to fund maintain the canine program. <br />Simple Majority <br />Area businesses promote good will and safety throughout the <br />community and agree that a canine unit would assist in the <br />areas of prevention, detection, multi - tasking, tracking, <br />apprehension, and finding narcotics. The business community <br />further realizes the increased risks faced by police <br />departments and the need for a greater push to use other <br />means to assist in the protection and service to the <br />community. <br />The purpose of Resolution 04 -130 is to accept and publicly <br />thank the area businesses for their generous donations to <br />the City of Lino Lakes. (See complete listing of donations <br />attached) <br />OPTIONS <br />1. Adopt Resolution No. 04 - 130 accepting the donations. <br />2. Return the Resolution to staff for further information. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Option No. 1 <br />
