AGENDA ITEM 6E
STAFF ORIGINATOR: Michael Grochala
CITY COUNCIL
MEETING DATE: September 13, 2004
TOPIC: Consideration of Resolution No. 04 -134 Requesting
Elmcrest Speed Study
VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5
BACKGROUND:
Elmcrest Avenue is a gravel road that runs along the City's eastern border with
the City of Hugo. The speed limit on the roadway is currently posted at 55 mph.
In view of pending development and concerns over safety the City of Hugo
requested that the Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn /DOT) conduct a
speed study for the purpose of lower the posted speed limit. The speed study is
proposed to be conducted for that portion of Elmcrest lying between County
Road 154 (80th Ave.) and County Road 14 (Main Street).
Since jurisdiction of the roadway is shared between the City of Lino Lakes and
the City of Hugo, Mn /DOT has requested that Lino Lakes provide a resolution in
support of the study.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of Resolution No. 04 -134.
ATTACHMENTS
1.
