CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 04 -144 <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING WELLHEAD PROTECTION PLAN <br />WHEREAS, The Federal Safe Drinking Water and Minnesota Groundwater Protection <br />Acts have mandated that all municipal well operators develop a Wellhead Protection <br />Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, The purpose of the plan is to address the long term and chronic health <br />effects of human caused contaminates to the groundwater supply; and <br />WHEREAS, The first part of the plan was completed in July of 2001 and encompasses <br />the delineation of the Wellhead Protection Areas (WHPA) and the vulnerability <br />assessments of each well and its corresponding Drinking Water Supply Management <br />Area (DWSMA); and <br />WHEREAS, The information and data within part two of the Plan provide a basis for the <br />development of strategies to manage identified potential contaminant sources within the <br />DWSMA of each municipal well; and <br />WHEREAS, The Plan also introduces the educational opportunities for residents and <br />businesses pertaining to wellhead protection; and <br />WHEREAS, A component of the wellhead protection planning process requires a public <br />hearing so the general public can review the Wellhead Protection Plan. A copy of the <br />entire document is available for review in the library at City Hall. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lino Lakes City Council hereby <br />accepts the Wellhead Protection Plan. <br />Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 25th day of October, 2004. <br />ATTEST: <br />Ann Bid fr,� City Clerk <br />Berg on, ayor <br />
