COUNCIL MEETING APRIL 11, 1988 Ms. Swanson handed out material to the Council that indicated the number of youths from Lino Lakes that were serviced by the Bureau. Costs for the first three months of 1988 were detailed and a request for $1,000 was made for continuation of services. Ms. Swanson noted that with the recent sad events in the Forest Lake area, the request for services has increased 100 %. She invited the Council to stop in and visit their facilities. Mayor Benson asked how she felt the results of the service have been and Ms. Swanson said she felt the services were very effective and worthwhile. Mr. Reinert asked if she felt the services are reaching those who really need it and is it doing some good. Ms. Swanson explained that for instance if a youth is detained for shoplifting, the youth is referred to the Bureau who counsel and assign community service hours. If this method does not work, the youth is taken to the courts to work through that system. It can be considered a diversion program in such cases. In addition, families must attend the programs with the youth. Mayor Benson told Ms. Swanson that there is money in the 1988 budget for the Forest Lake Youth Service Bureau and thanked her for coming this evening. Mr. Bohjanen moved to send $1,000.00 to the Forest Lake Youth Service Bureau for 1988. Mr. Reinert seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. PLANNING AND ZONING REPORT Set Public Hearing for Preliminary Plat, Lakes Addition No. 8 for May 9, 1988 at 7:30 P.M. - Mr. Bisel moved to set the public hearing. Mr. Reinert seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. PUBLIC HEARING - PHASE II. D. ERICKSON'S 2ND ADDITION, Resolution No. 25 - 88 Rescinding Resolution No. 15 - 88 - Mr. Bohjanen moved to approve Resolution No. 15 - 88.
