Anderson, Clerk - Treasurer
PUBLIC HEARING, CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT, SITE AND BUILDING
PLAN REVIEW AND REZONE REQUEST - VFW POST #6583
Mayor Benson opened the public hearing at 10:45 P.M. Mr.
Miller explained the location of the property is on the
north side of Lilac Street just west of Lake Drive. The
western portion of the land is zoned R -1 and the eastern
portion is zoned GB and the City Code requires that a CUP be
granted for the operation of a private club.
Mr. Miller addressed the site plan first. He noted the P &
Z Board's recommendations regarding plantings. The VFW has
objected to the large tree requirements in front of the
parking lot because they will hide the building. Mr.
Milleer recommended a substitution planting plan.
Mr. Reinert asked if the rezone was part of the fist rezone
consideration this evening. He noted that public hearing
had been continued and felt action on this request should
also be delayed until that rezone situation is resolved.
PAGE 15
187
