COUNCIL WORK SESSION SEPTEMBER 12, 1988
r. Schumacher explained to the Council that the City has
orked with Banyon Systems for several years and the staff
enjoys working with Doug Banyon. He felt that Banyon
Systems would provide stability needed for backup.
Mr. Christianson explained that Banyon Systems provide
training at $500.00 per day and also provides unlimited
support.
Mr. Schumacher thanked Mr. Christianson for coming and said
he would be getting back to him.
Mr. Schumacher said he would like to get a firm handle on
the budget and then come to the Council as soon as possible
with software specifications. Mayor Benson said it seems
that there is a dire need to get the systems up and in use
and asked why Mr. Schumacher why the package was not
presented tonight so that the Council could act. Mr.
Schumacher said he wanted the Council to be comfortable with
the software and be sure everyone was thoroughly familiar
with what is being presented.
Mayor Benson asked Mr. Schumacher to put together a
IIIecommendation for software and tie it into the hardware
ackage and into the budget.
r. Bisel said that his biggest concern is whether the City
should go with a PC or a System 36. Mr. Schumacher said he
has given all the information he has collected to the City
Auditor and he has recommended PC's.
The Council took a five minute break at 7:05 P.M.
AGE 2
219
