1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />COUNCIL MEETING <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />JULY 24, 1989 <br />Consideration of Roadway Easement from Mr. and Mrs. David <br />Aras - Mr. Schumacher explained that he has met with the <br />Aras' and the Council has already requested that the City <br />Attorney start eminent domain proceedings to obtain a portion <br />of the Aras' property for street right -of -way. Appraisals <br />have been completed and a settlement has been agreed upon. <br />Mr. Bohjanen moved to approve the payment of $9,600.00 for a <br />sixty (60) foot right -of -way easement and $500.00 for the <br />appraiser's fee to prevent the comdemnation process. Mr. <br />Neal seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Mayor Benson reminded the Council that they have received a <br />draft of the Fire Department Joint Powers Agreement. He <br />asked that they read the document and bring any questions <br />they may have to him or Mr. Reinert. <br />Mayor Benson noted that the Boy Scouts will be collecting <br />newspapers. He also noted that the recycling program is <br />going very well. Mr. Bohjanen noted that sometimes the <br />recycling truck forgets to pick up some items. <br />Mr. Bohjanen moved to adjourn at 10:00 P.M. Mr. Neal <br />seconded the motion.
