2 7 2 <br />COUNCIL MEETING SEPTEMBER 11, 1989 <br />The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes City Council was called <br />to order by Acting Mayor Reinert at 7:10 P.M., Monday, <br />September 11, 1989. Council members present: Neal, <br />Bohjanen, Bisel. Mayor Benson was absent. City Attorney, <br />Bill Hawkins; City Engineer, Ron Stahlberg; City Planner, <br />John Miller; Public Works Director, Don Volk; City <br />Administrator, Randy Schumacher and Clerk - Treasurer, Marilyn <br />Anderson were also present. <br />CONSIDERATION AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Work Session, August 28, 1989 - Mr. Bisel moved to approve <br />the minutes as presented. Mr. Neal seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried with Mr. Bohjanen abstaining. <br />Regular Council Meeting, August 28, 1989 - Mr. Bisel moved to <br />approve these minutes as presented. Mr. Neal seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried with Mr. Bohjanen abstaining. <br />CONSIDERATION AND APPROVAL OF DISBURSEMENTS <br />August 31, 1989 - Mr. Bisel moved to approve the <br />disbursements as presented. Mr. Bohjanen seconded the <br />motion. Mr. Neal questioned the disbursement to Holmes and <br />Graven. Mr. Schumacher explained that this firm is involved <br />in our Tax Increment Finance Districts. Voting on the <br />motion, motion carried unanimously. <br />September 11, 1989 Mr. Bisel moved to approve these <br />disbursements as presented. Mr. Bohjanen seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />OPEN MIKE <br />Senator Greg Dahl appeared before the Council to update the <br />Council on some of the matters addressed in the past <br />legislative session and to determine if he can help Lino <br />Lakes with anything in the upcoming sessions. He noted that <br />he would like to see the northern metro area treated well. <br />Mr. Dahl explained that he did support the tax bill that was <br />vetoed by the Governor. He said he did not know if there <br />woul'l be a special session to address tax 'ssues. <br />Mr. Dahl explained some of the special programs and items <br />that were of concern to him during this past session. The <br />school funding bill took a majority of his time. He also <br />spent time working on a bill to make implanting computer <br />viruses a crime. Other issues were solid waste issues, <br />control of medical and infectious waste, a bill to make <br />Minnesota a leader in recycling and capturing chlorinated <br />flouro- carbons (CFC), eliminate the three waste disposal <br />sites in Anoka County, recycling of used batteries, providing <br />funding for the Mosquito Control District to study Lymes <br />
