1 1 1 COUNCIL MEETING OCTOBER 23, 1989 regarding payment of connection charges, can they also be paid in phases or since the utilites are already in the entire subdivision, must all of the connection charges be paid at this time. Mr. Uhde is asking that he be allowed to pay for only the first twenty (20) connections since he is only developing twenty (20) lots at this time. Mr. Reinert said that Mr. Uhde should have clarified this prior to installing all of the utilities. Mr. Volk explained that the utilities are in the ground and must be maintained whether or not they are being used and felt connection charges for the entire area should be paid. Mr. Bisel asked that Mr. Schumacher put something in writting and submit it to the Council at the next meeting. Country Traveler - Mr. Neal noted that there will be no money for this senior service after November 1, 1989. They need $5,000 to keep the service through the end of the year. Since this service is available to seniors in four different cities, the Country Traveler is asking each of the four communites to donate $1,250.00 for the balance of the year. Mr. Neal noted that this is an important service for some of the seniors as it gets them to congregate dining. For some seniors, this is the only hot meal they get. Mr. Neal said he is going to solicit funding from the Lion's Club and the VFW and noted that the City of Lexington already has promised $1,000.00 for the service. Mayor Benson asked *that Mr. Neal bring this matter back to the Council after he has approached the other civic organizations. Mr. Bisel moved to adjourn at 10:18 P.M. Mr. Neal seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
