COUNCIL MEETING OCTOBER 23, 1989 Consideration of an Internship - Mr. Schumacher explained that he and Mr. Miller have been considering differenct methods to get additional help for the Economic Development Committee projects. A Hamline graduate, Mark Schoen has been working for the City of Stillwater and is interested in working for the City of Lino Lakes. He will work for this City for $6.75 per hour with no benefits. Mr. Schumacher suggested hiring Mr. Schoen to do such assignments as: 1) residential building lot inventory, 2) gather tax and land use data for Lake Drive Redevelopment Study, 3) location of "Welcome to Lino Lakes" signs, 4) work with Anoka Parks Department for loction of "regional park" signs, 5) coordinate work between land owners and the EDC on promotional advertising, 6) distribute City videos and resident's guides, 7) prepare revised land use numbers for EDC consideration, 8) gather data and complete surveys for other City planning and economic development issues. Mr. Miller had asked that the internship be for six (6) months, however, Mr. Schumacher felt three (3) or four (4) months would be sufficient. Mr. Schoen is currently working on his masters degree at Hamline University. Mr. Reinert asked where the funding would come for this position. Mr. Schumacher said it would come from the Planning Department budget. Mr. Bisel told the Council that he felt it was important that this temporary position be implemented so that the Economic Development Committee can carry through on their work. Mr. Bisel moved to approve the internship for four (4) months. Mr. Reinert seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Appointment of an Individual to Serve on the Centennial School Districts Facilities Task Force - Mr. Neal said he has agreed to accept this position. Mr. Reinert moved to appoint Mr. Neal to the Task Force. Mr. Bisel seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Lino Lakes Lioness Club Calander - Mrs. Anderson had prepared a presentation for the Council o., this matter. The Lioness Club would like the City to purchase a position in the business advertisements and to list the important meeting dates on the calander. Mr. Reinert said this was good advertising for the City and moved to approve the disbursement of $32.00 for this request. Mr. Bisel seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Reshanau Park Estates - Policy Regarding Hookup and Connection Charges - Mr. Schumacher explained that the sewer and water lines and connections have been installed in this entire subdivision. However, Mr. Uhde is developing the subdivision in two phases and asked what the policy is
