COUNCIL MEETING OCTOBER 23, 1989 <br />Consideration of an Internship - Mr. Schumacher explained <br />that he and Mr. Miller have been considering differenct <br />methods to get additional help for the Economic Development <br />Committee projects. A Hamline graduate, Mark Schoen has been <br />working for the City of Stillwater and is interested in <br />working for the City of Lino Lakes. He will work for this <br />City for $6.75 per hour with no benefits. Mr. Schumacher <br />suggested hiring Mr. Schoen to do such assignments as: 1) <br />residential building lot inventory, 2) gather tax and land <br />use data for Lake Drive Redevelopment Study, 3) location of <br />"Welcome to Lino Lakes" signs, 4) work with Anoka Parks <br />Department for loction of "regional park" signs, 5) <br />coordinate work between land owners and the EDC on <br />promotional advertising, 6) distribute City videos and <br />resident's guides, 7) prepare revised land use numbers for <br />EDC consideration, 8) gather data and complete surveys for <br />other City planning and economic development issues. Mr. <br />Miller had asked that the internship be for six (6) months, <br />however, Mr. Schumacher felt three (3) or four (4) months <br />would be sufficient. Mr. Schoen is currently working on his <br />masters degree at Hamline University. <br />Mr. Reinert asked where the funding would come for this <br />position. Mr. Schumacher said it would come from the <br />Planning Department budget. Mr. Bisel told the Council that <br />he felt it was important that this temporary position be <br />implemented so that the Economic Development Committee can <br />carry through on their work. <br />Mr. Bisel moved to approve the internship for four (4) <br />months. Mr. Reinert seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Appointment of an Individual to Serve on the Centennial <br />School Districts Facilities Task Force - Mr. Neal said he has <br />agreed to accept this position. Mr. Reinert moved to appoint <br />Mr. Neal to the Task Force. Mr. Bisel seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Lino Lakes Lioness Club Calander - Mrs. Anderson had prepared <br />a presentation for the Council o., this matter. The Lioness <br />Club would like the City to purchase a position in the <br />business advertisements and to list the important meeting <br />dates on the calander. Mr. Reinert said this was good <br />advertising for the City and moved to approve the <br />disbursement of $32.00 for this request. Mr. Bisel seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Reshanau Park Estates - Policy Regarding Hookup and <br />Connection Charges - Mr. Schumacher explained that the sewer <br />and water lines and connections have been installed in this <br />entire subdivision. However, Mr. Uhde is developing the <br />subdivision in two phases and asked what the policy is <br />
