COUNCIL MINUTES <br />APRIL 9, 1990 <br />of the system and looked forward to added growth. Mr. <br />Keinath noted a number of improvements in the Lino Lakes <br />portion of the system and also noted several changes that <br />were made because of the trunk main construction last fall. <br />Council Member Neal told Mr. Keinath that he has heard a <br />great deal of good things about the men who work on the gas <br />installation /maintenance crew. <br />Mayor Bisel asked Mr. Keinath if he could see any effort <br />to continue to up date the old steel gas mains. Mr. Keinath <br />explained that on a routine basis, cuts are made in the mains <br />for changes or additions to the system and the crews have <br />found the old steel pipes to be in very good condition. <br />Council Member Neal told the Council that in his work with <br />Anoka County Community Action Program, he has been trying to <br />get many of the old oil and propane furnaces converted to <br />natural gas. <br />Mayor Bisel asked Mr. Keinath what he expected in the future <br />for growth. Mr. Keinath said the Lino Lakes portion of the <br />system is growing aggressively and he felt this was an <br />essential element in the Lino Lakes /Circle Pines partnership. <br />He expected to see this growth continue dramatically. <br />Council Member Kuether asked if the system would continue to <br />grow to the east. Mr. Keinath said that they were <br />considering the D. Erickson property next to St. Joseph's <br />Catholic Church and also some property owned by Mr. Uhde. <br />Mayor Bisel thanked Mr. Ross and Mr. Keinath for their <br />report. <br />ENGINEER'S REPORT - DAN BOXRUD AND DARRELL SCHNEIDER <br />Resolution No. 15 - 90 Declaring Cost to be Assessed and <br />Ordering Preparation of Proposed Assessment, Sunrise Meadows <br />and Adjoining Areas - Mr. Schneider explained that this <br />assessment is not complete and asked that the agenda item be <br />held over until the April 23, 1990 Council meeting. <br />Resolution No. 16 - 90 Calling Hearing on Proposed <br />Assessment, Sunrise Meadows and Adjoining Areas - Mr. <br />Schneider asked that this resolution be held over until the <br />next Council meeting. <br />DISCUSSION AND REVIEW OF LINO LAKES ORGANIZED SOLID WASTE <br />STUDY - DON VOLK <br />Mr. Volk introduced Fran Kurk, Solid Waste Coordinator for <br />Lino Lakes. He noted that she has spent a great number of <br />hours preparing the document before the Council this evening. <br />Mr. Volk highlighted several areas of the Lino Lakes <br />Organized Solid Waste Collection Study.
