1 <br />1 <br />r <br />COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />COUNCIL MINUTES. <br />/36 <br />JUNE 18, 1990 <br />Staff Members present: Public Works Director, Don Volk; City <br />Administrator, Randy Schumacher and Clerk- Treasurer Marilyn <br />Anderson. <br />Senior Housing Proposal, Gary Uhde and Gary Stout <br />The proposal was not ready for presentation and the matter was <br />tabled. <br />Impact of the Circle Pines Water Filtration Plant <br />Mr. Schumacher explained that a referendum was passed in the City <br />of Circle Pines regarding the construction of a filtration plant <br />for the Circle Pines municipal water utility. Since the City of <br />Lino Lakes is currently connected to the Circle Pines municipal <br />water system, this City will be asked to pay a larger sum to <br />continue to be connected to the water supply or be asked to <br />disconnect. It was explained that presently both Lino Lakes <br />wells and Circle Pines wells are pumping into the water supply <br />system. When the new filtration plant goes into operation, the <br />Lino Lakes water must be filtered or disconnected. <br />The purpose of the proposed filtration system is to remove iron <br />and manganese from the water supply. Once the plant is <br />operational, Lino Lakes will be given several options: <br />1. Disconnect from the Circle Pines water supply. <br />2. Connect the Lino Lakes well to the Circle Pines filtration <br />plant. <br />3. Shut off the Lino Lakes well entirely and purchase the <br />PAGE 1 <br />
