1 COUNCIL WORK SESSION JUNE 18, 1990 evaluations will be completed and options reviewed. Further information will be obtained from Circle Pines. This information will be given to the City Council. Centennial School Board - Sewer Hook -up, and Joint Meeting Mr. Schumacher explained that he has received a telephone call from Superintendent McClellan requesting that he and the City Council get together and talk about a bond issue and where to build their proposed new elementary school. Mr. McClellan has suggested a 7:30 A.M. breakfast meeting sometime in July, 1990. Mr. Schumacher explained that Mr. McClellan's biggest concern is that the school district is looking at approximately 40 acres and they want to be sure that there will be sewer service available at that location. He also noted that if the school bond issue passes, the school board would want to move quickly to secure the property and construct the school. Mr. Schumacher will confirm a breakfast meeting. Union Contracts Mr. Schumacher explained a tentative settlement has been reached with Local 49. He will explain in more detail on Thursday. Mr. Schumacher explained that the proposed settlement will bring this union closer to complying with the Pay Equity requirements. Property on Corner of 77th Street and Lake Drive There was discussion regarding how many lots should be purchased for the new fire hall. It was suggested to purchase three (3) lots from Schifsky, the current fire hall lot and the lot north of the current fire hall. Mr. Schumacher explained that purchase agreements should be ready by Friday and the purchases should be closed by July 1, 1990. Mr. Bergeson noted that there is a possibility that West Shadow Lake Drive would flood again. He suggested that the City consider a shuttle to move residents through the area. Council Member Kuether moved to adjourn at 6:32 P.M. Council Member Neal seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. PAGE 3
