1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />COUNCIL MEETING OCTOBER 8, 1990 <br />this is a request for renewal of the present license. Mayor <br />Bisel expressed concern because this organization is taking <br />money out of Lino Lakes and not reimbursing the community in <br />any manner. Mr. Burke noted 611.03 of the current ordinance <br />which reads, "During any year that an eligible organization <br />is licensed to conduct gambling events, not less than ten <br />(10 %) per cent of the net profits from the operation of the <br />gambling by charitable organizations shall be used annually <br />for charitable purposes directly benefiting residents of the <br />City of Lino Lakes." <br />After further discussion on this matter, the Council directed <br />the City Clerk to invite this organization to the next <br />Council meeting so that they could explain how their profits <br />are distributed. <br />Council Member Reinert moved to table action on this matter <br />until the next Council meeting. Council Member Neal seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Establishing October 13, 1990 (Saturday) Team Building <br />Session, 8:00 A.M. to Noon, Randy Schumacher - After <br />discussing this matter, the Council decided to meet on <br />Monday, October 15, 1990 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. <br />Request for Speed Zone Study, 20th Avenue, Lino Lakes - Mr. <br />Volk explained that he has received a petition signed by a <br />large number of residents along 20th Avenue requesting that a <br />speed zone study be conducted by the Anoka County Highway <br />Department. He noted that the posted speed limit is 55 MPH <br />except at the south end by the curves. He also noted that <br />the speed zone study may not bring the results desired by the <br />petitioners. After discussing this matter, Council Member <br />Bohjanen moved to approve a speed zone study for the entire <br />length of 20th Avenue beginning at Ash Street and ending at <br />the north corporate border and a study for Otter Lake Road <br />beginning at Ash Street and ending at Main Street. Council <br />Member Neal seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Council Member Reinert moved to adjourn at 7:50 P.M. Council <br />Member Bohjanen seconded the motion.
