1
1
1
COUNCIL MEETING OCTOBER 8, 1990
this is a request for renewal of the present license. Mayor
Bisel expressed concern because this organization is taking
money out of Lino Lakes and not reimbursing the community in
any manner. Mr. Burke noted 611.03 of the current ordinance
which reads, "During any year that an eligible organization
is licensed to conduct gambling events, not less than ten
(10 %) per cent of the net profits from the operation of the
gambling by charitable organizations shall be used annually
for charitable purposes directly benefiting residents of the
City of Lino Lakes."
After further discussion on this matter, the Council directed
the City Clerk to invite this organization to the next
Council meeting so that they could explain how their profits
are distributed.
Council Member Reinert moved to table action on this matter
until the next Council meeting. Council Member Neal seconded
the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Establishing October 13, 1990 (Saturday) Team Building
Session, 8:00 A.M. to Noon, Randy Schumacher - After
discussing this matter, the Council decided to meet on
Monday, October 15, 1990 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
Request for Speed Zone Study, 20th Avenue, Lino Lakes - Mr.
Volk explained that he has received a petition signed by a
large number of residents along 20th Avenue requesting that a
speed zone study be conducted by the Anoka County Highway
Department. He noted that the posted speed limit is 55 MPH
except at the south end by the curves. He also noted that
the speed zone study may not bring the results desired by the
petitioners. After discussing this matter, Council Member
Bohjanen moved to approve a speed zone study for the entire
length of 20th Avenue beginning at Ash Street and ending at
the north corporate border and a study for Otter Lake Road
beginning at Ash Street and ending at Main Street. Council
Member Neal seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Council Member Reinert moved to adjourn at 7:50 P.M. Council
Member Bohjanen seconded the motion. Aye.
These minutes were considered, corrected and approved at the
regular Council meeting held on October 22, 1990.
7 :- ;
Marilyn-G.
