•
COUNCIL MEETING
STATE OF MINNESOTA
COUNTY OF ANOKA
CITY OF LINO LAKES
NOVEMBER 28, 1988
CERTIFICATION
I do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution is a true
and correct copy of a resolution presented to and adopted by
the City of Lino Lakes at a duly authorized meeting thereof
held on the twenty eighth day of November, 1988.
SEAL
Mari yn' .'Anderson, Clerk- Treasurer
Ditch Cleaning - Mr. Schumacher said he has been approached
several times now and asked why the City is not cleaning
ditches since the weather has been so dry and this appears
to be the best possible time to do this work. Mr. Volk and
Mr. Stahlberg support this idea. The question appears to
be, where will the money come from to do the work? Mr.
Stahlberg explained that three ditches appear to need work
in the near future, the ditch that crosses Birch Street from
the east side of Reshanau Lake Estates South, the ditch
north of Main Street from 4th Avenue to Pine Street and the
ditch west of city hall south of Main Street. Mr. Stahlberg
also noted that ditch work will be needed in Section No. 31.
Mr. Bohjanen asked if these ditches were in the Rice Creek
Watershed District jurisdiction. It was explained that
although they were, RCWD has said that they have no money
for cleaning or returning them to their original condition.
Mr. Bisel said it did not make sense to wait until there is
a problem with a ditch before any action is taken.
Mayor Benson asked that projected costs be prepared for the
above mentioned three ditches and an estimate of when could
this work be done.
Mrs. Sharpen, 801 Main Street said she and her husband own
forty acres and would be willing to pay the cost of cleaning
the ditch that runs through their property.
There was discussion regarding scheduling the cleanout of
certain ditches, survey work needed and possible right of
way acquisition. Also the-Council discussed the possibility
of asking other agencies to participate in the studies.
PAGE 9
1
