102 <br />COUNCIL MEETING DECEMBER 12, 1988 <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />John McLeans Property Value Adjustment - Mr. Schumacher <br />explained that the County Assessor has reviewed Mr. McLean's <br />request to reduce the value of a piece of property as he <br />requested at the annual Board of Review. Mr. McLean feels <br />that the reduction is not enough and has told Mr. Schumacher <br />that he will pursue this matter through the court. <br />Meeting to Discuss 1989 Appointments - This meeting was set <br />for 5:30, December 27, 1988. <br />Fire District - Mr. Reinert said he feels that the Fire <br />District issue has to be addressed as soon as possible with <br />the member councils. He said he did not like the direction <br />the matter was taking. Mayor Benson asked that a letter be <br />sent to the two cities to set a meeting prior to the <br />December 22, 1988 meeting of the Fire Commission. <br />Mr. Bisel said he feels that the Fire District is looking <br />for taxing authority so that they can establish their own <br />budget without the member cities approval. <br />Mr. Schumacher suggested that he get together with Mr. Des <br />Englund in Centerville and discuss how they can educate the <br />new City Council in Centerville on this issue. Mayor Benson <br />asked that Mr. Schumacher let the Council know by Monday, <br />December 19, 1988 what is going on. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Mayor Benson noted a letter from Mr. Schumacher stating that <br />he will be conducting non- union staff evaluations. <br />Mr. Bisel moved to ajourn at 10:40 P.M.
