COUNCIL MEETING FEBRUARY 27, 1989 <br />Bisel noted that people do pay property taxes on their <br />trailer unit, school costs per child far out distances the <br />taxes collected. <br />Mr. Bisel moved to Close the public hearing at 9:50 P.M. M <br />Bohjanen seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Reinert moved to approve the recommendation of the P & Z <br />Board and approve the rezone request. Mr. Neal seconded the <br />motion. Mayor Benson told Mr. Howard that since he did not <br />have a sketch plan for this land he found it very difficult <br />to make a proper decision. He said a sketch plan would have <br />provided the answer to many questions especially buffering. <br />Mayor Benson said that Mr. Howard could withdraw his rezone <br />request and then provide this information. <br />Mr. Neal said originally he was against the proposed rezone. <br />However he received a discriminating telephone call and felt <br />it was unfair and changed his decision. <br />Mr. Bohjanen explained that he had received the same <br />telephone calls and felt they were in poor taste. He hoped <br />that denial of the rezone at this time would not completely <br />cut Mr. Howard off. <br />Voting on the motion, Mr. Neal yes, Mr. Bohjanen, yes, Mr. <br />Reinert, yes, Mr. Bisel no, Mayor Benson, no. Motion failed. <br />The Council took a five minute break at 9:55 P.M. Mayor <br />Benson left the meeting due to illness and Acting Mayor <br />Reinert assumed the Chair. <br />Acting Mayor Reinert called the Council into session at 10:04 <br />P.M. Mr. Bohjanen moved to extend the Council meeting beyond <br />10:00 P.M. until all items on the agenda are completed. Mr. <br />Neal seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />CONSIDERATION OF 1989 MEDIATION SERVICES REPORT <br />Mrs. Anderson explained that that Council has recieved a <br />report from Mediation Services outlining their activities for <br />1988. A number of Lino Lakes residents were served by the <br />service and there has been several sessions held in the <br />Council Chamber. The cost of the service to Lino Lakes is <br />five cents per capita. Mr. Bohjanen moved to accept the <br />report and approve the disbursement for this service. Mr. <br />Neal seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />ENGINEER'S REPORT - RON STAHLBERG <br />Mr. Stahlberg introduced Brian Bourassa, Engineer in Training <br />with TKDA to the Council. He explained that Mr. Bourassa is <br />responsib1p for most of the maps that are prepared for Mr. <br />Stahlbergs presentations. <br />
