1
1
1
Council Member Kuether moved to refer to the original eligibility
list and determine if anyone on. this list is interested in the
position. Council Member Neal seconded the motion. Motion
carried unanimously.
Consideration and Approval of Cabaret License and 3.2 Beer
License for Circle Pines /Lexington Lions Club, Sandburr Days -
Mrs. Anderson explained that this is an annual event and will be
held at Sunrise Park, September 7th and 8th. There have been no
complaints regarding previous Sandburr Days celebrations.
Council Member Neal moved to approve the Cabaret License and 3.2
Beer License for this event. Council Member Kuether seconded the
motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Consideration and Approval of Proclamation Designating August 17,
1991 as LINO DAYS - Mrs. Anderson read the proclamation. Council
Member Neal moved to accept the proclamation. Council Member
Kuether seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Charles Cape Property, 1420 Woodland Drive - Mr. Schumacher
explained that Mr. Cape owns 40 acres adjoining the Chain of
Lakes Regional Park. Approximately 30 acres of Mr. Capes
property is lowland. He has been working with the DNR trying to
determine if there is any way to develop a portion of the
property that contains a high knoll. The DNR has refused to
issue road or access permits through the lowlands to serve the
one high knoll. Since there is no potential to develop any of
the property, Mr. Cape has asked Anoka County if they would be
interested in buying the property and adding it to the Regional
Park. Mr. Schumacher explained that Lino Lakes and Anoka County
have an agreement that Anoka County will never acquire additional
property for Regional Park purposes in Lino Lakes. Mr.
Schumacher asked what would the Council policy on this matter be?
There is no other use for the property, will the Council stand
firm on the current policy?
It was determined that the Regional Park would build a day camp
on the one (1) high knoll on the property. It was also
determined that Mr. Cape wanted to sell the property because it
was of no value to him.
Mr. Schumacher was asked to research and determine the tax impact
of taking this 30 acres from the tax rolls and report his
findings at the next Council meeting.
Council Member Kuether moved to adjourn at 8:42 P.M. Council
Member Bohjanen seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
These minutes were considered, corrected and approved at a
regular meeting of the Council held on August 26, 1991.
PAGE 11
12
