75
COUNCIL WORK SESSION SEPTEMBER 5, 1991
REVIEW OF PROPOSED PARK DEDICATION ORDINANCE AMENDMENT
Mr. Volk gave the Council a copy of his memorandum dated August 29,
1991 outlining a new park dedication formula. He explained that he
and Mr. Asleson have authored this formula and it appears to work
very well. Mr. Volk explained the formula and compared how it
would have worked in several of the newer subdivisions had it been
in place at the time they were approved. Several "what ifs" were
discussed. Mr. Volk explained that commercial /industrial
dedication was also considered. It was determined that the Vadnais
Heights policy was the best that could be developed. Churches and
other nonprofit development were not considered at this time. Mr.
Volk explained the rationale for this.
Mr. Volk noted that the Park Board will be reviewing the formula.
Mayor Bisel asked that indexing be considered so that this matter
will not be coming back for Council consideration each year.
The meeting adjourned at 5:12 P.M.
These minutes were considered, corrected and approved at a regular
Council meeting held on September 23, 1991.
-zap L
a ilyriJ G.
