June 10, 1974 <br />Mr. Jaworski was absent due to the fact that he was operating the sewer truck. Mr. <br />Backlin had been injured in an automobile accident. <br />Mr. Marier was absent in order to attend graduation ceremonies. <br />Mr. McLean reported that the second ball diamond has been graded. The fence at <br />Lino Park is up, except for the last three post adjoining Luther's Sport Shop and <br />the gates are not in as yet. He will check Sunrise before the campers come in and <br />will also check on Sunday evening before they leave. Mr. Clausen and Mrs. Kendall <br />will assist. <br />He reported that after some discussion with Mr. Beihn, the two young people who <br />will be working with Mr. Johnson in the Parks this summer will be one fully funded <br />person and one who is 75% funded. The City will pay 25% of his salary. Mr. McLean <br />moved to accept this arrangement. Seconded by Mr. Zelinka. Motion carried. <br />There was some discussion on the amount on some of the requisitions. The Council <br />feeling that items for this small amount should be purchased from the petty cash <br />fund. After some discussion, Mr. Zelinka moved that any item under $7.50 be <br />purchased from the petty cash. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried. In the same <br />line, Mr. McLean moved to increase the petty cash fund to $100.00. Seconded by Mr. <br />Zelinka. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Zelinka said that he will be out of town this coming week but that a Personnel <br />meeting will be set up for the week of the 24th. Mr. Larry Johnson is setting this <br />meeting up and will contact the office for notices to be sent out. <br />Mr. Bohjanen reported on the meeting scheduled for June 13, 1974. This meeting will <br />also include a discussion of the Anoka Highway department highway plans. He reminded <br />the Council of the meeting on the llth with Mr. Burandt and the Centerville's Council. <br />He felt that this meeting was necessary for the two Councils to draft a position <br />statement as to Mr. Burandt's report. <br />Mr. Bohjanen had the Clerk read a letter from Mr. Clement Frazer thanking the <br />Police Department for the house check while they were on vacation. They appreciated <br />the watch kept on their home very much. <br />Mr. Bohjanen had received a letter from Delores Knaak, Ramsey County Commissioner <br />dealing with the Battle Creek Watershed District. A hearing is scheduled for June <br />13, 1974 at 10:00 p.m. in the Hazel Park Jr. High School. The Council felt that <br />they could not approve this project since they have no information. After some <br />discussion, Mr. Zelinka moved to authorize Mr. Gotwald to attend this hearing and <br />present the City's stand on this proposal. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Bohjanen had received a note from Senator Milton with a list of grants available <br />for Park projects. This was turned over to Mr. McLean. <br />He announced that the representative on the Open Space Commission representating <br />this area is Beverly McCumber of Hastings. <br />Mr. Jaworski arrived. He stopped to open the two bids received for the truck. <br />One from Bill Boyer Ford and one from International. After discussion of the <br />deliver date. Mr. Jaworski moved to table a decision on this until this can be <br />cleared up. Seconded by Mr. Zelinka. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Jaworski left. Mr. Zelinka moved to send Mr. Jaworski a letter of comendation <br />for stepping into Mr. Backlin's place and to include a badge (a close pin) . Seconded <br />
