August 26, 1974 <br />Mr. Locher said that the representative from the Ford Company could not attend <br />this meeting but will be here at the Sept. 9, 1974 meeting to discuss the Ford <br />Patrol car. <br />The Clerk was asked to put this on the agenda. Mr. Locher asked that Chief Myhre <br />and one other Patrolmen be present. <br />Under old business, the progress of the road work was discussed and Mr. Jaworski <br />felt that it should be completed in 2 to 3 weeks. He had two bids for replacement <br />of a culvert on East Rondeau Lake Road. One from Viking Steel - 899.15 (14 ga. <br />stee); and one from Johnston - 1115.16 (12 ga. steel)Mr. Marier moved to accept the <br />bid $899.15 from Viking Steel. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried. The Clerk <br />was instructed to fill out a requisition for this and assign #463. <br />Under new business, Mr. McLean reported on the meeting with Mr. Nethercutt and <br />Mr. Peravich in connection with the open space. Mr. McLean, Mr. Marier and Mr. <br />Zelinka had attended this meeting and felt that it was a good meeting. Many areas <br />were discussed including the sewer and the Comprehensive Land Use Plan. The <br />Complete reversal on the sewer was discussed. Mr. McLean felt that this was a very <br />productive meeting in view of the up coming meeting with Mr. Boland and the Metro <br />Staff people. <br />Mr. Marier felt that these men understood that the 2500 acres of land acquired for <br />open space is all that the City is willing to give. These men left the feeling that <br />no more land would be considered in Lino Lakes unless the City requested it. The <br />Councilmen had asked for their aid as to imput to the Metro Council before the <br />scheduled meeting with Mr. Boland and his staff on Sept. 9, 1974. Mr. Marier felt <br />that the meeting we very open and candid. <br />Mr. Scherer asked the Council if they were making a decision on the full -time Police <br />question this evening or will more talks be scheduled? <br />Zr. Jaworski said there are some points to be gone over and some facts to be obtained. <br />Mr. Scherer felt that within 60 days he could present the Council with a list of <br />1000 names of persons who want full -time Police coverage. <br />Mayor Bohjanen said the Council appreciates Mr. Scherer's concern but, Centerville <br />had asked for time to consult on this and this Council needs time to look at more <br />figures before the budget meetings. <br />1 <br />1 <br />Mrs. Jaworski asked, if this proposal is turned down by this Council, can this question <br />be put on a special ballot? She was told Yes, but the figures would have to be included. <br />Mr. Marier moved to approve requisitions #460 through and including #463. Seconded <br />by Mr. McLean. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Jaworski moved to approve Checks #5933 through and including #5952 holding #5933 <br />per motion. Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Jaworski moved to approve payroll checks #2499 through and including #2520. <br />Seconded by Mr. McLean.
