February 24, 1975
Mr. Marier said from his study of the list, it would seem that these problems
are external. He asked Acting Chief Myhre just what kind of control does
he want.
Acting Chief Myhre said at the present time the owner's can ask the Sheriff's
office to authorize any one they want to act in the capacity of a bouncer. He
wants the authority to check into the background of these people and have the
authority to tell the owners if they are suitable or not. He also would ask that
some sort of uniform be required.
Since this authority must be established by Ordinance, Mr. Zelinka requested
Mr. Locher to have suggested changes in the present Ordinance No. 12 ready for
the next meeting. The fact, that even if these men are approved by the local
police department, the City will not assume any responsibility for the action
of these persons.
Mr.Jaworski requested a report on the operations of these bars before the
license renewal date.
Acting Chief Myhre also reported on the Lingerie show being presented at the
Oasis Lounge once a week. He felt that this went beyond the normal concept
of this type of show. He reported that Blaine and Ham Lake had had problems of
this same type and now have a Ordinance covering these shows. He offered to get
copies of these ordinances.
Mr. Marier aksed where the girls are from and who is hiring them? Acting Chief
Myhre wasn't sure, but he thought Mr. Cichy was hiring them. Mr. Marier said
if they are from Models Unlimited, then there is nothing wrong. The girls that
work in connection with that agency are unapproachable. This matter was left
for more information before any action is taken.
Mr. Jaworski requested that a letter be sent to the Anoka County Highway Department
requesting that speed limit signs be posted on all County Roads within the City
of Lino Lakes immediately. A copy of this letter is to be sent to Mr. Burman.
The Clerk reported that she had talked with Mr. Torkildson and he informed her
that a letter is in the mail agreeing to the request that the golf course
be operated for another year by the Anoka County Park Department.
It was requested that some salt or salt sand be put on the ice around the hall.
Mr. Zelinka moved to approve requisitions #569 through and including #574.
Mr. Marier questioned #573. He asked if this was a realistic appraisal; isn't
it possible to purchase these supplies in a smaller quani-ity? After some
discussion, Mr. Marier moved to cancel requisition #573. Seconded by Mr. McLean.
Mr. Zelinka withdrew his motion. Mr. Marier's motion passed with Mr. Jaworski
voting, No.
Mr. Marier moved to approve requisitions #569 through and including #572 and
574. Seconded by Mr. McLean.
