1
MAY 12, 1975
Mr. Gotwald recommended that once the maps are corrected the City should get
into the program in order to insure the availability of loans for construction
within the City. This program must be adopted by the City by July 1, 1975.
Mr. Zelinka moved to pass such a Resolution. Seconded by Mr. McLean.
Motion carried unanimously.
The Shoreline Management Ordinance of Anoka County was discussed. This must
be adopted by July 1, 1975 or the State will adopt one for the City. Mr.
Locher read the law requiring this.
Mr. Jaworski asked in an Ordinance referring the Rice Creek Watershed District
requirements would be acceptable? Mr. Locher felt that it would not.
Mr. Locher will get more information and this will be discussed at the
mext meeting.
Mr. McLean reported that he had attended a meeting of the Anoka County
Park Board last week and the requests for use of the Park had been dis-
cussed. Just preliminary plans are being discussed at this time.
He had met with Mr. Volk and the personnel needs for the upkeep of the
parks for this summer had been discussed. This needs to be finalized
at the Park Board meeting and he will have more to report at the next
meeting.
The Lion's Club plan to blacktop the parking lot of the Lino Park. This
area has been staked and the base was put down last fall. The need for
culverts will be referred to the Anoka County Highway Department. There
will also be cement parking stops. This is being worked out with Mr. Molin.
Mr. McLean presented the bids for the backstops - one is to be located at
the Hall property and one at Lino Park:
Century Fence
A $ R Erection
Lino Athletic Assoc.
Midwest Fence
$1,465.00 per backstop
1,324.00 per backstop
965.00 per backstop - excluding cement
for the post.
1,000.00 per backstop
All bids were on a two to three week construction schedule.
Mayor Bohjanen felt there was a psychological advantage to having the work
done by the Lino Athletic Association since they are the ones who will be
using the parks.
Mr. McLean agreed but felt there is no warrant connected with the work
that would be done by that orginazation. He felt that if the cement costs
were included with their bid, the bid from Midwest Fence would be comparable.
After some discussion, Mr. McLean moved to approve the bid from Midwest
Fence for the installation of two backstops - one at the Hall property
and one at Lino Park. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion carried.
55
