AUGUST 11, 1975
Mr. Marier moved that with the Engineer's acceptance, the funds be
released. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried.
Mr. Marier moved to set a hearing on the renaming of this street on
August 20, 1975 at 8:15 P.M. before the Planning and Zoning Board and
on August 25, 1975 at 8:15 P.M. before the City Council. Seconded by
Mr. McLean. Motion carried.
The Clerk reported on the following items:
...The Anoka County Highway Department will close Main Street beginning
Tuesday, August 12, 1975, for the construction of the bridge. The
street will be closed for approximately one month. The Clerk was re-
quested to notify the local papers of this and ask that they print a
notice of the closing.
...Mr. Roy Backslin had inquired about the procedure to file for retire-
ment income from PERA. The Clerk had checked with the orginazation
and found if an employee becomes 65 without having worked 10 years
under PERA, then he can only get a refund of the monies he has
contributed. However if the City has a mandatory retirement age of
65 for all City employees, then he is eligible for regular retirement
payments. Since the City of Lino Lakes does not have such a regulation,
a Resolution to that effect must be passed before Mr. Backlin attains
the age of 66 in order for him to qualify. Mr. Marier moved to have
the Personnel Commission review this matter and give a recommendation
for Council consideration. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried.
...Mr. Lawrence Cichy had called asking about a refund of the monies
he had paid for the liquor license at the Oasis. Since the land has been
sold and a license approved for the new owner, Mr. Cichy was requesting
a refund. Mr. Locher checked but felt that more research should be
done on the legality of this. Mr. Jaworski moved to table this matter
until the August 25, 1975 meeting. Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion
carried
...The Clerk read a letter from Mr. Lee Starr directed to Mr. Gunnar
lsberg in regards to a commentary on the Lino Lakes Guide Plan. Mr.
Marier recommended that this letter be put in the file for a special
meeting.
...Mr. Dennis McGuire of the White Bear Cab co. had contacted the
Clerk's office with the request for licensening four different auto-
mobiles to be used as taxi cabs and to operate within the boundaries
of Lino Lakes. Mr. Marier moved to mail a copy of Ordinance no. 45
to the applicant and inform him that he must comply with this ordinance
and appear before the Council. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Motion
carried. The Clerk was asked to research an application from a cab
company located in Forest Lake.
...The Actual Use Report for Federal Revenue Sharing Funds had been
filled out by the Clerk for consideration by the Council. This
report must be published and mailed before September 1, 1975.
The Clerk was asked to mail a copy of the work sheet to all Council
Members and this matter will be considered at the special meeting.
...The Clerk had received a request from Noth Central Public Service Co.
to supply natual gas service to a home to be built at 7364 Lake Drive.
Mr. Gotwald had checked the plans and approved them. Mr. Marier moved
to approve the request. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried.
...The Clerk read a letter from Mr. Richard Krimm, Assistant Administrator
for Flood Insurance, stating that the Flood Hazard Maps for the City
of Lino Lakes had been received and are being reviewed. The letter states
that office will be contacting the City for futher discussion'
