1 SEPTEMBER 24, 1975 1 The Council requested that this be typed and a copy be mailed to Mr. Locher for his consideration and that he be at the next meeting. The Clerk was also instructed that these minutes are to remain strictly confidential and that no one is to get a copy. It was suggested that she type them at home to insure privacy. Article XXV was deleted completely and the phrase "merit increase on the basis of performance" substituted. The meeting was adjourned at 11:00 P.M.. OCTOBER 1, 1975 The special meeting of the Lino Lakes City Council was called to order at 7:35 P.M. by Mayor Bohjanen on October 1, 1975. Councilmen present: Jaworski, and McLean. Absent: Marier and Zelinka. Mr. Locher was also present. This meeting had been called for the purpose of considering the Police Contract as presented by the Union. Mr. Baustain and Mr. Wisenberger were here to represent the Union. The entire Police Department was present. Mr. Jaworski corrected the minutes of the previous meeting as follows: Change his time of arrival from 8:55 P.M. to 7:55 P.M. There was some discussion of the 7th paragraph with the numbers not being clear. This was deferred for discussion at a later time. Mr. Jaworski moved to approve the minutes as corrected. Seconded by Mr. McLean, Motion carried. Mayor Bohjanen suggested that in order to clear this, he felt that the contract should be discussed from the beginning. Article 1 - Date - to be entered when contract is signed. No other questions or objections. Article II - Mr. Locher felt there should be more classifications under this article. Mayor Bohjanen suggested adding the classification of Clerk - Typist. Mr. Jaworski wondered if this is the correct terminology. Mr. McLean; what then? Mr. Jaworski 'Community Relations Officer, not a sworn officer but could function if needed for female prisoners. Mr. McLean said since we have no use for a person with that kind of duties; what other duties other than normal office work? Mr. Jaworski said the same duties as now but not a sworn officer. There was more discussion on the duties of this position, with Mr. McLean feeling that a Clerk- Typist is all that is needed in that office. Mayor Bohjanen felt that if another position becomes necessary, it can be added. Mr. McLean asked if the Council determines that another position is necessary this contract will not cover that position. Mr. Bastain said that was correct, it would be added and negotiated for at that time.
