AGENDA ITEM 7G
STAFF ORIGINATOR: James E. Studenski, City Engineer
COUNCIL MEETING DATE: March 10, 2003
TOPIC: Resolution No. 03 -37, Designating No Parking on EIm Street
Reconstruction.
VOTE REQUIRED: Simple majority
BACKGROUND:
State Aid requires a minimum 36 -foot wide street to allow parking on EIm Street
Reconstruction project. Currently, parking is mostly non - existent on EIm Street.
A significant amount of the homes front the side streets and the school and
church have their own parking lots. A narrower street will be more desirable
regarding traffic speeds on the road. This has been discussed at the
neighborhood meetings and the residents are in agreement to not allow street
parking. The street design is the city's standard width of 32 -feet.
As part of the street reconstruction, State Aid must receive a resolution from the
City for a No Parking Restriction on EIm Street.
A copy of the resolution is attached.
OPTIONS:
1. Adopt Resolution 03 -37, Approving No Parking Resolution on EIm Street.
2. Return to staff for further review.
RECOMMENDATION:
Option No. 1 - Staff recommends that Resolution No. 03 -37 be adopted.
